Capacity Development & Legal Aid

Capacity development and legal aid support are critical components for ensuring access to justice and strengthening governance in Bangladesh. Capacity development involves enhancing the skills, knowledge, and abilities of individuals and institutions, particularly within the justice system, to effectively uphold the rule of law. In Bangladesh, this includes training lawyers, judges, and legal professionals, as well as building the capabilities of governmental and non-governmental organizations involved in legal reform and justice delivery.

Legal aid support, on the other hand, provides assistance to individuals who cannot afford legal representation, ensuring that justice is accessible to marginalized communities. The government, along with various NGOs, plays a key role in offering free legal aid services, particularly to vulnerable groups like women, children, and the poor. Together, capacity development and legal aid support contribute to a more equitable and efficient legal system in Bangladesh, promoting human rights, reducing poverty, and fostering social justice.
